Bonedale Batting Cage

Donation protected
We are building a public batting cage for Carbondale.  It's a 70' x 14' x 12' tunnel net system that will be located at the North Face/Bill Hanks field, situated along the first base line, out past the sheds.

The cage will be open to the public (unless the ball field is reserved).   The cage will be available and suitable for users of all ages - Rec League, Little League, other leagues, softball, and individual use.   A batting cage is a safe place to improve baseball skills; players can get many more quality reps at bat in a cage system.  Cages extend the practice season since the turf surface dries sooner than field dirt.   Batting cages are an enormous asset for teams during their practices, since coaches can cycle multiple players through quality sessions, and the young players' technique improves rapidly as a result.

We are seeking $6,000 in donations to complete the project.   The Town of Carbondale has already purchased the frame & net system, so this is a "community challenge match" to raise the funding for the site work, materials, and equipment rentals for building the pad.  Site work includes grading and building a pad, installing a gravel access path, and pouring post holes.

We are also seeking donated materials and equipment.  The site work and posts will be installed by volunteer labor.  Any excess funds will be used to buy additional equipment for the cage, or donated to the Town Rec department for field maintenance if funds are leftover.  The target installation date is during late April 2020, weather and other circumstance permitting.

This project fundraising is fiscally-sponsored by the Roaring Fork Sports Foundation.  A Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit that will receive the donations and forward them to the Town of Carbondale as part of their charitable purpose.  https://www.facebook.com/roaringforksportsfoundation/
