Donation protected
I am writing on behalf of my best friend Janine & her husband, Michael.
Some of you may or may not know that Gianna, their 11 yr old daughter has recently been diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Fanconi Anemia. This is a disorder that causes the bone marrow to be deficient in producing all types of blood cells.
They have recently been told that the only cure for this genetic disorder is a BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT. There have been 4 donor matches (10/10 match) that have been found on the National Donor Registry which is absolutely AMAZING! You can’t get any better than that.
Transplant will take place in early October.
Gianna has a tough road ahead of her but with the support of her family & friends, my favorite family will get through this tough time.
With that being said, the expenses (medical bills, co-pays, missing days of work to attend dr’s appts, missing months of work while Gianna recovers) is placing an overwhelming, stressful and unexpected financial burden on the family & will continue to do so. Once transplant is completed, Gianna will remain in the hospital for 2 months to recover & will then be home for about a year to continue recovery. She will miss most of the school year but will be homeschooled.
If you could please help support this wonderful family, financially, during this extremely difficult time, it would help more than you know. It will allow the family to focus on making sure sweet, little Gianna has what she needs to recover.
Gianna is their world & they are quite devastated by her diagnosis.
Thank you for your prayers & love during this extremely difficult time.
Please continue to pray for Gianna and her family.
