Hello friends,

We all know Bondoq as the spirit of Toronto, he brought so much happiness into our hearts, and this year, he did not get the chance to celebrate his birthday, he was called by God to be in heaven.

We truly miss this sweet soul and want him to get the funeral he wished for. We are working together to get his body back to Egypt where he will be buried next to his parents, and that is the way he wanted to be in the afterlife.

As much as this is heartbreaking for all of us, there is not much we can do, but to support his wish, and pay him the respect he deserves.

We are working with a funeral home to get his body to Egypt, please help us grant our beloved friend his last wish.

Update 1.0 - Feb/26/2023:

I would like to thank everyone who donated and shared this page, thank you very much, I have no doubt that Bondoq would be very happy to know that so many people loved him, and cared for him and his family after his death, you folks are the best.

We have connected with his next to ken to keep them updated on what we are doing and get their approval of our next steps.

To ensure transparency we will provide a breakdown of the costs, and where the funds are going in full details:

$8000 of the raised funds will be put towards the cost of shipping his remains to Egypt, you can find a breakdown of the cost and the quote we found with Chapel Ridge Funeral Home:

It was the best quote we could find, and we are working on getting the legal documents from his next of ken so that we can proceed, also his body is still in the coroner's office, and is expected to be released on Monday or Tuesday (27-28/Feb/2023), as the police told us.

Once it gets released, it will be taken by the above-mentioned funeral home (Chapel Ridge Funeral Home) where he will be washed according to his religious beliefs and how he wanted to be treated after his death and will be kept there until we get all the papers needed to send him back home to Egypt (the embassy's approval and other permits).

We are working to arrange a meeting at the funeral home to say our last goodbyes and prayers to him, it will be a 2-hour gathering, and we will post its full details (location and date/time) as soon as it becomes available.

$2000 will be sent to Egypt to cover the associated cost of his burial there (in Egypt), and will be handed to his next to ken.

Any extra/remaining funds will be used to support his dependants, as he was responsible for some of his family members, and by his death, they do not have any means to support themselves, and we all know that he would never want for his loved ones to be unsupported and feel left out after his death, so this should help them get by until they can be more self-dependant and on their feet.

Update 2.0 - Feb/28/2023:

Dear friends and family,

We could never thank you enough, all your contributions made it possible for our friend to have his final wish and be buried home where he wanted to be.

To keep you all posted, earlier this afternoon (28th/Feb), we were granted the legal consent by his next of kin to make the necessary arrangements to send him back home to Egypt. A few hours later Bondoq's body was released (night of 28th/Feb), and was transferred to a private designated facility where he will be washed according to his religious beliefs and made ready for his final resting place.

There will be a gathering for all of us in Canada to say our final goodbyes to Bondoq on Sunday 5th/March between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, the meeting place will be in Markham, Ontario, and a final address will be released in the next two days just so we finalize the booking of the place, and arrange some other legal and procedural requirements

As we are asking all the stakeholders to arrange everything in a timely manner, we appreciate your respect for this rather sensitive situation.
