My name is Kim Bolt-Davidson and my brother, Will Bolt, had a heart transplant on January 3, 2016. We are raising money to help Will and his family--wife, Carol and daughter, Christine, with ongoing medical expenses for this GIFT of LIFE he has received ! We are so very grateful, thankful and blessed! We all call him SUPERMAN but he insists he's just an ordinary guy working each and everyday to honor the memory of his donor and the donor's family. As part of this fundraiser, we are hosting a Dance to the Beat Party on Sunday, January 15, 2017. 5:30- 7:30 pm at Extravanza Events & Props, 1610 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. We would love for you to come and dance with us, have fun and celebrate! Please click on the EventBrite link to register.

You may dance, donate, dance and donate....however you want to help! We appreciate you and whatever you can do!
And now...please read on to hear about Will's Journey....He had always been an active man; never one to sit idle. So, after being diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), it should not surprise you it took some 25+ years before it finally slowed him down. HCM is a disease in which the heart muscle becomes thick--this makes it harder for the heart to pump blood. Many people die suddenly from a life threatening abnormal heart rhythm. Living with the knowledge of that fear, Will tried to live the best way he could....he skied, biked, hiked. He didn't want life to pass him by. He moved to Colorado where he felt like he belonged; Steamboat Springs was home. He moved back to NC when his own mother's health was failing and to be close to family which is where he met his wife, Carol. They enjoyed life on their farm in Waxhaw raising their daughter and Will realized his lifelong dream of owning a bicycle shop. As his health declined though, it became clear things would have to change. Carol and Will made the decision to move back to Steamboat. He knew he ultimately would need a heart transplant. He wanted to be back in the place he so loved. This past January Will was matched with a donor and with all the love and support of family, friends and the amazing team at University of Colorado Hospital is doing very well post operation! He is back home in Steamboat and feeling stronger than he has in years. The journey of a transplant recipient never ends and is ongoing with anti-rejection medications, monitoring and travel back and forth to University of Colorado Hospital. Although it's been an up and down recovery, Will has not let that deter his spirits. He knows he is blessed to be stronger and be able to participate in activities with his family that he once could not. The Bolt family is so very grateful to the Charlotte, Waxhaw and Steamboat communities for their support. They feel blessed by the care received from all the nurses and doctors throughout Will’s journey. It is difficult to express how very much Carol, Will and their daughter Christine appreciate all everyone has done to help Will succeed in his journey. Knowing that it is difficult for them to continue to ask for more help, I, his big sister Kim, asks in place of them---to aid in the past accumulation of medical debt they have amassed as well as the continued ongoing medical costs they are incurring. Your gift will help the Bolt family move forward in Will’s journey! We thank you more than words can express! Love and Hugs to All!
