Sabbatical Fund for The Bolands
Leviticus 25:3-4 For six years you shall sow your field, and for six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather in its fruits, but in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to the Lord.
Mike and Jennifer Boland have been faithfulling serving in the ministry for seven years. In the past few years I have seen the Bolands sacrifice so much for their neighbors. They have really been living out the Gospel for the families around them. Last Christmas Jen headed up a group of families finding bicycles for some of the more disadvantaged families in their Reynoldstown neighborhood. They have made their home an open space for kids from all the nearby streets.
This summer, City Church-Eastside is offering the Bolands to take a sabbatical. They will be taking the months of June and July to strengthen the core of their ministry: their family. We are asking you to join us in taking care of the Bolands in this time of rest.
Personally, I have fallen in love with the work the Bolands are doing. Not because it is some worldwide campaign but because it is the humble and generous work of loving their neighbors. They have opened up their hearts and home. They have given whatever they could to love the families around them including sacrificing money they had saved for sabbatical. We would like to bless them by taking care of some of the expenses during their sabbatical.
It is our goal to raise $2,750 by June 2 to pay for travel expenses; including food, accommodations and activities. During this time the Bolands will be travelling around the southeast. Please help me in raising support by giving if you can but also by sharing this fundraising opportunity with others.
