Boise Vertical Farm's Mushroom Hut

Boise Vertical Farm was founded in 2018 with the mission to create a safe community that provides hope and employment for individuals in substance abuse recovery by growing local produce.
We are now looking to grow our impact and raise money for a new mushroom that will be located on the grounds of Boise Vertical Farm.

"When Crystal and I were forming Boise Vertical Farm we were looking for agriculture products that we could produce that didn’t require land or building space, could be sold at a good margin, was in demand, had growing interest, and had limited local supply. We decided on a test grow for mushrooms. Our mushroom operation has been housed in our spare bedrooms, basements, and garages. We have been growing for 4 years now. We have gained experience and expertise in growing Oyster mushroom varieties, Italian, Pink and Golden, but we have not had the equipment or space to development maximum growing efficiency." - Founder, Jeff Middleton
Boise Vertical Farm is a 2nd chance employer for people in recovery from drugs and alcohol.
We employ people in recovery in our green houses and growing operations. We also work with the local court system to help people complete court appointed Community Service hours in a clean and sober environment. Our focus is relapse prevention.
