Hey guys! If you know me, you’re bound to know Bogey (or have at least heard a lot about him!), and know how special and quirky he is, as well as how much he means to me.
Recently, we investigated a heart murmur that was found on his wellness exam. He had an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) preformed during my cardiology rotation at ISU by one of our residents. We unfortunately found a defect in his heart called pulmonic stenosis (PS), which is a narrowing of the outflow tract that allows blood flow from the heart to the lungs. His PS has been classified as severe and surgical intervention is warranted and recommended to allow him the best chance at a full and normal life.
While currently in my final year of vet school, funds are unfortunately tight, and I am unable to cover the cost of his surgery without help. His surgery will be sometime in April or early May of this year and I would be so incredibly grateful for any help in reaching our goal to get him to surgery!
