We've started this page to help get critical funds to Boe Langford (pictured) from Outback Cleanups Australia (OCA).
Boe's had some pretty below average medical news lately, but this Legend's not letting that stop his mission to keep our beautiful country clean.
They're a fully registered charity/DGR so its a fully tax deductible donation!
The Story so far
Since 2019 Boe and OCA have collected, recycled and data logged over 77,168 kilograms of rubbish pollution from remote beach, bush, and marine environments across Australia.
These are places that no one other than Boe and his team at OCA are cleaning up. Without them the plastic and pollution in these places is just piling up and polluting some of the last places on earth that our famously unique flora and fauna can thrive.
Why they need help now.
- Boe needs a minimum of 20K to cover some of the costs he has to get his vehicle fitted, fuelled and fully operational.
- Boe spends this money on things like repairs, fuel, vehicle maintenance and support.
- He sleeps rougher than he should and does it tougher than he should to make every cent count.
Amongst other cleanups Boe's also got his sights set on Cape York's remote coast, where the issue of marine waste is so severe that it's been labelled as Australia's 'washed-up thong capital'...
No joke though, remote surveys of the coast have shown it's being inundated with plastic waste, including fishing gear, plastic bottles, rubber thongs and other debris washing ashore.
This is harsh, remote and largely inaccessible land, the type you see on postcards of Australia, and the type of environment we all want to see, without plastic bottles...
