Body Kindness 2020 Podcast Production

Hi, I'm Rebecca, host of the Body Kindness podcast, now in season 6.

Listeners are working on breaking free from body shame, dieting, and eating disorders, helping their kids grow up with body kindness (while still evolving themselves), setting boundaries with doctors, families and friends, and pretty much doing everything they can to resist judgment and shame around health, weight, and shape.

Throughout the 155+ episodes, I have received some of the most heartwarming messages from listeners... everything from "I finally got the courage to stop dieting and be good to myself"  to "your podcast has helped me become a better parent and person ,"  and even  "I had my first orgasm at 45!"

My dear friend, Bernie Salazar, joins me monthly in our series Learn and Grow  where we talk about Bernie's true life transformation from "biggest loser" reality TV to body kindness -- a dad of two and business owner who has embraced his body and committed to never  dieting again.

I've been recording episodes to help people cope with COVID-19 . Although my shows and conversations can't possibly fix the emotional overwhelm we're facing, I hope that the COVID-19 episodes and resources  I am sharing play a small part in peace.

I'm asking for support to help defray the out-of-pocket production costs. (And seriously, I don't care if it's $5... it matters to me!)

What It Takes to Run the Body Kindness Podcast

Each episode takes at least 4 hours of my time to research topics, prepare for and conduct interviews, communicate with production team, listen to rough cut and provide edits, listen to final cut, write the show notes, and share on social media.

In addition, I have out of pocket costs that include: hardware, software, producer, editing, co-host stipend (I pay Bernie for his episodes, though he is worth 10Xs what he gets.) I have estimated that I spend $600-800 a month out of pocket on actual expenses to keep it running.

It's critical to me to continue providing FREE content in the podcast. While it's not a replacement for in-person support, I've heard from helping professionals and clients that the shows are significantly improving well-being and helping people move away from dieting practices and poor body image. One listener e-mailed me to say it's her "weekly morning coffee date with Rebecca". I love that.

I estimate based on downloads and social media reach the Body Kindness podcast is reaching 80K+ people a month! (That's a big impact... and I plan to keep it growing!)

How You Can Help

If you are a listener or like my work, give anything you can to my Body Kindness podcast cause. It all helps.

How Can I Thank You?

I'd love to recognize you as a donor on the podcast page, an upcoming episode, and donate an ad space to a person with a purpose.

After you donate, shoot me an email about how I can help recognize your contribution. (Rebecca at Body Kindness Book dot com)

Thank you, again, for supporting this podcast. It's a passion project of mine. I love doing it. And I'd love even more to continue with an uplifted heart from your generosity.

With gratitude,
