Bodie's Veterinary Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Dianne, and I am doing this fundraiser to help my daughter with the medical expenses for her very young dog. Marisa adopted Bodie from the SATO Project (a great organization that rescues dogs from Puerto Rico) in December 2020. He has been a fantastic dog and is like a child to Marisa. In August of this year (right before his 2nd birthday), Bodie collapsed and was rushed to a Veterinary Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. A very aggressive cancerous tumor was found, which was surgically removed and a few ribs. Bodie has undergone 2 chemo treatments; however, the prognosis is still not good. It is doubtful that he will see his next birthday. The bills have added to a final cost of over $18,000 for his care. Luckily, Marisa has pet insurance, which covers $8000, but she still has an out-of-pocket expense of around $10,000. To Marisa, Bodie is her world. To watch her go through this, knowing she will lose him, has been heartbreaking. Bodie is currently acting like the puppy he was before getting sick, but we know that once the tumor grows again, Marisa will have to make a tough decision. I want to help ease the burden of this cost to allow her to focus on caring for Bodie in the upcoming months, not worrying about the debt she has incurred for his care.
