- My name is Jan Pridemore. I have a friend that has suffered a devastating loss over the Fourth of July weekend this year. Her dog Bodhi, 11 years old, escaped from the front porch of a friend’s cabin in Pine, Arizona. She has been searching for him for the past 19 days at this writing. My friend has not left the area since he went missing. As a result, she has not had an income and has had to buy supplies such as poster board, paper, tape, and do photocopying and just a multitude of things. She has posted pictures and missing dog flyers all over the area of Pine. That’s why she’s investing in these supplies.
Also, she’s working with trappers and she needs to buy food for two traps and 4-5 feeding stations that need to be changed daily. The food must be changed out daily and the water dishes filled. It’s a lot of hard work. There are two traps, so that means three watering stations and three bowls of food. These traps are in the national forest. There have been several sightings of Bodhi, so we are hopeful that he is surviving on his own. He was last seen on 7/17 so we are hopeful that he is in the area, there was a possible sighting yesterday.
There are two different rescue services in the Pine area: HARTT and Northern Animal Search and Rescue. They have provided guidance to my friend as well as cameras and traps. They have many volunteers that volunteer their time, their gasoline, buy their own meals, and she would like to be able to help these volunteers that are guiding her. Rescuing a dog is not an easy job; many hours of the day are spent searching the woods for Bodhi, changing food and hanging flyers and moving traps to the last sighting spot. Many of these require long hikes uphill without a trail. My friend has hired a thermal drone operator to this area with no luck. It’s expensive $200 each time. He has been there three times. Many friends have shown support and she would like to thank everyone she would like to make donations to the rescuers to the trappers the dog sitter, etc., and would appreciate any donations towards this and supplies needed. The trapping organizations are 401C3 so if you want to specify that the donations go directly to them please notate that. She appreciates everyone’s efforts so far, Sheri Goodwin has been invaluable in the valley updating FB post and keeping people informed. Prayers for Bodie are appreciated.
