Sudden, unexplained illness is one of those awful things in life that can only be made worse when you don't know how to fix it. And unfortunately, when it comes to our furry pals there's no way for them to tell you what's wrong and what needs to be fixed.

Bodie's run of good health came to an alarming halt this week as a marked, sudden drop off in energy quickly escalated to hospitalization for kidney issues.
I adopted Bodie in 2012 and he and I have been through incredible highs and terrifying lows the past 9 years. He was there for me when I struggled with addiction, when my marriage ended, and at my lowest moments the strong sense of obligation to take care of this little dude was often the only thing that kept from entertaining the darkest of my impulses.
When my boy stopped eating, couldn't bring himself to walk outside to use the bathroom, had blood in his stool, and shook uncontrollably, I took him in to an emergency clinic. The first bill for treatment is below.

I brought him home last night, and his condition quickly worsened. The only available option was to admit him to a hospital where he could be treated, monitored, and given fluids for 2 days. The estimate for that is below.

This is likely just the start of the expenses, but I am already underwater.
The good news is after an ultrasound today, a vet told me that nothing in his kidneys indicated that he would not recover, so I'm going to keep fighting for my guy until either we reach the end of our limits or he's back home happy and healthy.
Any amount you can give to help me with these expenses would mean so much to me and Bodie. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
