Bodi Needs Life-Saving Surgery - please help

Bodi is more than a dog—he’s Katie’s heart.

Bodi just turned 10, and this morning he was rushed to the vet and they determined he has pooling of blood in his stomach, his mom Katie received heartbreaking news: Bodi has cancer and needs surgery to save his life. Right now, tests are being done to see if it has spread. If surgery is possible, it could save his life—but it comes with a massive price tag of around $11,000- 14,000.

He is currently getting more tests done which cost a minimum of 3,000$.

For anyone who knows Katie and Bodi, their bond is something truly special. They were meant to find each other. Katie met Bodi through her boyfriend at the time when he was just a puppy. She instantly fell in love. Over the years, she dog-sat him, visited him often, and would even ask to take him on little day adventures—just the two of them.

Five years ago, Katie got the call she’d always hoped for: Bodi’s original owners were going to give him up. Katie had always said, “If you ever get rid of him, please let me take him.” They did—and without hesitation, Katie welcomed him into her home and her heart forever.

Since then, Bodi has been by her side through every trial in life. He’s not just a pet—he’s family. He’s comforted her during heartbreak, lifted her through tough times, and has given her unconditional love and loyalty every single day. And he adores her in a way that’s truly rare—he looks at her like she’s his whole world.

Now, Bodi needs help. And Katie can’t face the thought of losing him without a fight.

This surgery could give him more happy years to spend cuddled up on the couch, playing outside, and being with the person who loves him most. Every dollar helps us move closer to giving Bodi a chance.

I’m deeply grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received for Bodi. Your donations, prayers, well wishes have been invaluable. Thanks to your generosity, Bodi was able to go through a successful procedure to remove his spleen and is now resting at home. The surgery costed 10,000$. We’re awaiting lab results to see if the growth is benign or malignant, expecting to hear back in 7-10 days. If it is malignant, he the vet highly recommends chemotherapy.
