Bodhi’s Fight for Healing ❤️‍

Hi everyone,

As many of you know, it can be hard to ask for support in serious times of need especially when the only thing on your mind is confusion, devastation, and your child’s fight for healing. Shyla, Jon and Bodhi need their community of people to come along side them right now as Bodhi (who is only 1) is in critical but stable condition.

On Tuesday, Shyla took Bodhi to the doctor where he was originally diagnosed with an ear infection and sent home with antibiotics. Shyla tried to go home with Bodhi and trust that his doctor was correct. As time went on, Shyla knew that something wasn’t right and, trusting her mama intuition, took Bodhi to the hospital where they learned Bodhi is currently fighting pneumonia and sepsis shock.

From Shyla “We were admitted yesterday and then transferred to another hospital early this morning (Thursday). Bodhi is currently intubated and sedated. Tomorrow, they will do a spinal tap to check for meningitis and any other infections. We are also waiting on labs from yesterday.” Bodhi is currently admitted in John Sealy UTMB Hospital in Texas.

Jon, Shyla, and Bodhi moved to Nassau Bay, Texas from Sacramento, California just recently in December 2022, to be close to Jon’s mother and pursue new opportunities and adventures. Currently, Shyla’s partner Jon is the only one in the household working and that is already a financial strain. Now, they will need to accommodate being out of work for several weeks and the debt of hospital bills and expenses for Bodhi’s recovery which right now, the amount of time is unknown.

We have known Shyla for 15 years as coworkers and friends during our time in Grass Valley and know what a fantastic partner to Jon and mom she is to Bodhi. Bodhi is the light of their lives and one of the most smiliest, happiest, sweetest, carefree babies we’ve ever met. You literally can’t help but love him. Shyla would never ask for help willingly, however, we feel this is the time to come alongside her, Jon and Bodhi, to offer our support, prayers, thoughts, and love. No amount is too small. Prayers and shares are just as important.

Please pray for complete healing for Bodhi, wisdom and guidance for doctors, nurses and staff, and pray for peace and comfort over Shyla and Jon’s hearts. This news is devastating as a parent.
