Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for visiting Bodhi's Healing Fund and for caring so much about little Bodhi, Katie and Craig! Katie and Craig are dealing with more as parents than any two people should have to, but they are doing it with, grace, compassion, strength, humility and faith. As this family navigates the road ahead, hospital stays, medical bills, travel, distance (the list goes on) they are focused on what matters most- Bodhi. During these times it is really hard to know how to help, or what to do to support the family, and we hope that this fund can be a collective support of community, friends and family that can contribute to Bodhi's journey.
Katie and Craig did not ask for this help, and in respect for their privacy they would appreciate it if this stays off of social media and is simply shared with those that want to offer some support. The link can be emailed. Any amount is helpful and you can absolutely contribute anonymously if you would like. The money will be used for medical bills, hospital stays, plane tickets for Craig to travel back and forth to Cleveland from Louisiana, special toys for Bodhi, and anything focused on his health and healing. Ultimately, what matters most is continued prayers for Bodhi and sending strength to Katie, Craig and their families.
A little bit about Bodhi:
Little Bodhi's due date was October 29th, 2019 but this little dude arrived 4 months early on July 5th. Bodhi come into this world as a micro preemie weighing 1lb 3oz and 12” long.
Bodhi has already undergone many procedures and has run into some challenges, but is such a strong fighter already! Bodhi's detached retinas completely tore recently and unfortunately he will live life fully blind. Recently, Bodhi's neurology update revealed that the left half of his cerebellum did not develop fully. Bodhi will need developmental therapy and hope that as he grows that other parts of the brain can help make up some of the function that is lost. The functions impacted are coordination and can be related to movement, speech, learning, memory and attention. The next 12-16 months of age can give much more insight into his overall development. Bodhi is having trouble with his airways and with his vocal cords working properly.
Bodhi's story is one of perseverance, strength, grace and so much love. You are doing GREAT, Katie and Craig. We all love you!
