My name is Megan and for over 10 years my family has called the small, Baja Pacific town of La Bocana our home away from home. Particularly the cabins and restaurant at Bocana Adventure, where we welcome guests to our annual wave camps run by our business ExotiKite Kiteboarding. We work closely with the staff and consider them some of the hardest working, most genuine people we know, always showing up with a smile to welcome old and new guests to their beautiful town.

On August 20th Hurricane Hilary devastated the cabins and restaurant at Bocana Adventure changing the lives of our friends, the hardworking employees, dramatically. With the cabins destroyed and the restaurant severely damaged, they are left with no way to make an income and no way to continue their lives in La Bocana. Many would have to leave to find work elsewhere as the small town does not have enough job opportunities to supply the amount of unemployed workers.

The team at Bocana Adventure have asked that I set this page up to help see them through after this natural disaster that upended life as they know it. They are hoping to achieve the amount of $1500 a week to provide $18/day to each of the 12 employees. It will be distributed weekly to the manager to allocate to the employees.

From Hector Ojeda, manager of Bocana Adventure: The blow of Hurricane Hillary changed our lives drastically. Bocana Adventure, our source of work and income, was destroyed by winds and tidal waves overnight. Losing our livelihood put us in a difficult situation since the reconstruction will take time and we will stop receiving income from our visitors. We want to work and rebuild our workplace so we might continue to do what we love, to be in service of our customers and to share our town with visitors from all over the world. To achieve this, we humbly ask for donations to help us cover our lost wages until we can serve you again.
