We are raising money for our friend Bob Shipman who is fighting  cancer -- for the second time.  Along with this, he has a severely leaking heart valve. The money raised will be used to aid with costs associated with his care so Bob can stay in his home as long as possible.

We've all enjoyed Bob's excellent coffee at the State House -- now's the time to chip in for that coffee fund. 

Bob is remarkable and interesting: he hitchhiked across the United States a couple of times in the 70s, lived on a hippie commune in Ojai, lived in a castle in northern England,  edited a weekly newspaper, served as a press secretary in the US Senate and as a research staffer in the Minnesota House.

He served in the military and he claims the movie “Under Siege” is loosely based on his service as an Air Force cook.  Although I’ve been unable to verify that, I find it entirely believable.    


I have, however,  been able to verify that he is an excellent coder and data miner, a wonderful friend to us all.

These days he’s content to count the sunsets as his condition worsens.  Please consider what life is and givin' Bob and little something.  Thank you so much.
