On May 25th, my brother Bob Schexnayder was admitted to the hospital with complaints of fever, back and shoulder pain, and shortness of breath. He was diagnosed with pericarditis (Inflammation in the sac surrounding his heart) and then a pericardial effusion (fluid in the sac around his heart).

He was on multiple IV antibiotics for 5 days and ultimately had to have surgery (a pericardial window and chest tube placement to drain fluid that had accumulated in his lung) on Monday May 30th. He is currently still in the hospital and will be for several more days.

He does not have health insurance and at this time his medical bills are over $40,000. An arrangement has been made with the hospital to forgive half of the bill if $20,000 can be paid within 30 days...that means that with our help, his entire medical bill can covered if we can raise $20,000 before July 1st, 2016.  Any funds raised over this amount will help cover the GoFundMe fees and Bob's living expenses until he can return to work.

Bob works outdoors in landscaping and will be out recovering for several more weeks before he is able to return to strenuous activity. Please help us support Bob in his recovery and with his medical expenses. Thank you!
