Bobs terminal cancer diagnosis

Donation protected
hi my name is brad, I am helping to raise funds for our father bob who had been diagnosed with terminal small cell lung cancer.

Bob was told on the 17th November 2023 that they believed he has cancer, on the 4th December bob received the most life changing and devastating news that he has terminal cancer and unfortunately it had spread to every organ in his body apart from his heart and has gone into his bones proving that he has a very aggressive form.

after having a meeting and discussing options bob gave chemotherapy a go as due to his age (49) they said he could have a very good chance at having 12months-3 years, unfortunately after 1 round of chemotherapy and another meeting Bob got more bad news that the chemotherapy wasn’t working, also that he would have to have a stent put in due to the main tumour putting pressure onto his heart which would’ve been fatal if not done right away.

bob has since done a week of radiotherapy and is now trying out another chemotherapy but unfortunately they have said that the time frame they had hoped for in the beginning isn’t something we can hold onto anymore.

bob has got 4 children, 1 grandson and the most amazing partner in the world, my mum Emma has been amazing through thick and thin but this horrific news has taken a massive chunk of her life away also, to hear that the love of her life is terminally Ill is the hardest news to face after being together 30 years. Emma works a part time job at a nursery, makes sure my little brother and sister get to school and picks up from school and also looks after Bob making sure he’s taking all he’s medication and eating and drinking. She does all of this on foot as she unfortunately doesn’t drive and on top of all of this she still has all the love in the world for her family and friends!

bob is the strongest man I know and he has made me become the man I am today, it has been hard for all of us close to him watching the cancer take he’s life away bit by bit. Amazingly even with with this horrific news Bob is still so mentally strong and is fighting as much as he possibly can to beat the odds and get as long as he can with the ones he loves the most.

We as a family all understand that times are hard for everyone at the moment and bearing that in mind any donation no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated and would mean everything to us as a family. The money donated would go towards making sure that Bob can do everything he wants to do on he’s bucket list which would mean the absolute world to him, the money would also be to help Emma and the kids to live a semi normal life in the future.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story it is greatly appreciated ❤️
