Bob's Surgery and Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Thursday, October 8th Update:
We have closed the donations.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Because of all of your VERY generous donations, my family was able to focus on the actual surgery and recovery rather than what it would cost to cross to the finish line.
Bob's surgery was last Friday, and he is recovering nicely! He did need two lymph nodes removed, but we are still waiting and hoping for good news. They believe they removed all cancerous cells, and there is a chance Bob may not need chemo or radiation.

Thank you again to everyone who helped. You will never know how much this means to our entire family. Y'all are the best and really came through when it counted.

We recently found out that our dad was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer, Clark Level III. We want to start out by saying Bob should be just fine! His prognosis is very good, but he will need surgery to remove his lymph nodes and remaining cancer, followed by Chemo and/or Radiation. He has a few tough months ahead, and we are hoping to bring him some comfort along the way, a light at the end of the tunnel and to help with any medical expenses related to his treatment so that he can focus on a speedy recovery.

Please, please, please - do not tell our parents that we set this up (it is Kyle's fault if they find out). My parents always have and always will help everyone that crosses their paths. This is a major part of the reason we wanted to set this up. The goal for the funds will be to buy some comfortable things to help Bob through surgery and chemo, to help with medical related travel expenses, co-pays, etc. and anything left over will be used for something fun for Bob to look forward to at the end of treatment.

We grew up watching our dad drive around after snow storms to find strangers to tow out of snow banks just for fun. We stopped countless times to help boaters broken down in the water, helped women in distress, really we helped anyone that we were able to, and these are just the random acts of kindness that we remember. Anyone who has been lucky enough to have Bob as a friend knows that there is no limit to what he would do for those he loves. I can't think of a better example to grow up with, or a more deserving person to help out when they are down.

Even if you are not in a position to contribute financially, we would love to have some stories for him to read during his treatments. Please feel free to share a funny time you spent together, a time where you saw him help someone out, how you met, or even just a favorite memory that you may have.

Thank you all in advance! I know he will kill us for this, but if anyone deserves help, it's him!
