Bob's Books - A Village Treasure Needs Your Help

Hello, readers and admirers of all things small and mighty!  This fundraiser will benefit Bob's Books, Music, & Consignment, a shop in the tiny village of Esperance, New York.  Specifically, the funds will help the shop's owner to purchase the building that has been leased for the past several decades, make upgrades and improvements, and create an even more wonderful experience for patrons old and new.  We intend to create more space for local entrepreneurs to offer their one-of-a-kind products as well.  Finally, as many businesses have experienced in 2020, the COVID-19 requirements required closure of this shop during the spring of 2020, which reduced our revenues considerably.  Our target date for this fundraiser is June 2021.  (There are two buildings currently for sale by owner, and Bob's uses one of those two buildings.)  Also welcome are bids or offers from potential partner(s), as well as creative ideas from those of you who wish to be a part of this endeavor!   

This shop has a place in the hearts of all who have visited and/or volunteered over the years.  In addition to thousands of used books of fiction and nonfiction, it also carries vinyl LPs (and other music media) and lots of thrift items in home décor and furniture.  The name of this historic little town means "hope" in French, and there is an abundance of hope and dedication to keep growing and maintaining that "small-town friendly" that makes life a little better for everyone who comes through the door.

Bob's is located on what used to be a main corridor across the United States - US Route 20.  Newer highways and toll roads re-routed so much of the daily traffic for many years, but folks are now taking the old roads and enjoying the simplicity of a slower pace.  You know how much fun it is to discover a unique treasure of a shop along your travels, and Bob's certainly falls into that category.

You don't need me to tell you that businesses in small towns can be the very anchors that keep each town "alive."  We also know how many of you are giving more and more these days to worthy causes that are important to you and those you love.  We are humbled and appreciate your consideration and your good wishes.  We are going to create a wall of names and well-wishes from this endeavor, so please feel free to leave a cheery note and/or creative ideas!
