Bob’s Badwater 135 Dream Race

Hi everyone! I have some awesome news to share with you about an opportunity I have been blessed with. I have been selected to participate in one of my all-time bucket list ultra races, the Badwater® 135. It is an invitation only race that choses 100 runners every year from around the world and it is considered “The World’s Toughest Foot Race”. Covering 135 miles non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, CA, the race is the most demanding and extreme running race offered anywhere on the planet. The start line is at Badwater Basin, Death Valley, which marks the lowest elevation in North America at 280’ below sea level. The race finishes at Whitney Portal at 8,300’, which is the trailhead to the Mt. Whitney summit, the highest point in the contiguous United States. The Badwater 135 course covers three mountain ranges for a total of 14,600’ of cumulative vertical ascent and 6,100’ of cumulative descent. This is a dream come true event for me and will be extremely challenging, a chance to see what I’m really made of! I have a few friends and family that have stressed the desire to help support me with the financing, so I have started a go fund me page. The race happens on July the 19th to 21st. We will fly into Las Vegas on Friday the 16th, stay there for 2 nights, shop for all the supplies we need, then drive up to Death Valley on Sunday the 18th, stay in Furnace Creek until the race starts, then stay in Lone Pine close to the finish line on the 22nd and 23rd, then fly back home on Friday the 23rd. This race requires that you bring a crew of 4 runners traveling in a rented van to support you during the race. I will need to fly 4 people and myself to and from the race, along with renting hotel rooms and a van for a week, along with all the supplies and food I will need for myself and crew to accomplish this challenging goal. Please do not feel obligated to contribute to this fund unless you want to, I am very capable of financing the event on my own. Your relationship, along with the love and support you show me in my daily life is and has been sufficient for getting me through many challenges and across numerous finish lines in my life!
