Hi,
On behalf of Bobby, we want to thank you for all the support you have shown us over the past few years.
In June 2022 Bobby was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
He has been under the care of the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Oncology team and on Monday 6 Jan 2025, he rang the bell to signify the end of his treatment. Bobby was in treatment for 955 days!!
Bobby is part of a clinical trial and will continue to be monitored until he is an adult. He has had the support of doctors, nurses, teachers, physios, dieticians, neuropsychologists, play therapists….you name it!
It has been a wild ride and we couldn’t have done it without the teams of people at RCH and with the enormous support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), where we stayed for many many many nights! Having to relocate to Melbourne from regional Victoria is not unique to our story. Many families are living away from home for months on end and without RMHC, finding somewhere to stay, and the added costs would be an added pressure to families who already have so much to focus on.
Bobby has made it through treatment and we are celebrating with a ring the bell party! I’ve been asked by a lot of people coming along about whether to bring a gift for Bobby! Bobs has everything he needs, and we would love it if no gifts were given.
Instead, we would love to raise some funds for the two organisation that mean the world to us, RCH and RMHC.
Whatever the total, we will give half to each!
Thank you for your love and support.
Love Andy, Trudy, Andie and Bobby
