I don’t normally ask for help, this is new for me.

I’ve never really asked, because while I have been in some shitty circumstances, usually my own actions didn’t make the situation better. My ownership of those situations was figuring my own way out of the messes I helped create.

Here I am in a situation I didn’t cause, but happened to me anyways. I have been out of work for six months now. My company unexpectedly forced me into medical leave. I didn’t have much in the way of savings and had to get a loan before that happened, because I had been missing work so much. You know from constantly bleeding everyday for years.

Which means the past six months I have been scrambling doing lots of odd jobs to try and get by. Had my phone turned off at one point, which was not fun.

I had surgery and finally feel better than I have in years. Except, my medical bills are coming in, I haven’t been able to go back to work, and I can’t find any work. You have known me when I’ve work three jobs with no days off for months. You’ve known me when I worked two different jobs in one day just a 14 hour stretch. This isn’t for lack of trying it is just where I’m at.

I found out my insurance company won’t pay for medicine to make sure I don’t have to have another surgery. I have to do it out of pocket. My old landlord who knew I was on medical leave, decided to throw out a bunch of my stuff because she said she hadn’t heard from me. I have to replace my work uniforms and a lot of my clothes. As of right now I have no underwear or socks. I left it all in DC, so fun fact: Guess what I haven’t worn in six months?

Uniforms, medical bills… I have to find a new place to live. I have nothing right now. I’m from Florida so I couldn’t get unemployment or disability. I’ve tried taking out another loan with my parents as co-signers and no one will approve it. I don’t know what else to do and I don’t know how I’m supposed to get by in the next month or two, because I still have to go to more doctor’s appointments before I get approved to go back work. In the mean time there’s no money coming in, but the collection of things I must pay for is growing.

I’m asking for help. If I have made you laugh, served a good drink, written a good story or maybe you like the cut of my jib. General vibes and whatnot. If you could help me so I can pay my bills and find a place to live and eat. Right now getting healthy has cost me everything and I don’t know what else I can do. I’m just trying to make sure that I’ll be okay for the next couple months so I can get back on my feet. I’m asking for help.
