Hello, my name is Madison Miller. I’m raising funds to support my husband, Robert Evans through his brain cancer treatment.

First and foremost, thank you for checking in and reading this page, it’s sincerely appreciated. Long story short, Bobby would benefit from financial support during his radiation treatment. Any help will ease costs associated with housing, transportation, food, medication and other miscellaneous costs during and after the 6 weeks we will be spending in Madison, WI near the hospital.

Now the long version, for those who would like to know more. Bobby is 28 years old, and he is the love of my life. He is strong, funny, sweet, and is the kindest and is most patient person I’ve ever met. He’s the kind of person who makes rooms better just be being there.

In early March, Bobby started to have headaches that got progressively worse over time. By late March, Bobby could hardly sit up because of the intensity of the headaches- and eventually he began experiencing double vision. Because of these symptoms Bobby visited the Optometrist on April 1st, where it was discovered that he had swelling in his right optic nerve. This prompted an exhausting 10 hour struggle to gain access to an emergency MRI.

Late in evening on April 1st, Bobby was finally able to get an MRI. The scan revealed that he had a mass the size of a walnut in the Thalamus region of his brain, resulting in a significant amount of fluid buildup. This prompted him to be hastily transferred to UW Madison Hospital where an emergency drain was placed. Thankfully, this relieved the pressure he was experiencing from fluid buildup in his brain. We stayed in that hospital for 8 days, waiting for his tumor removal surgery. It was a scary and emotional time. Luckily, the nurses and doctors all provided excellent care. They made that very difficult time as smooth as possible.

After the wait, surgery went very smoothly and lasted roughly 4 hours. Bobby recovered in the hospital for another 7 days before being released. It was around that time that we received the results of his biopsy. He was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioma, which means that his brain cancer is terminal, incurable, and aggressive. This type of cancer has a low 5 year survival rate, and people typically live with this type of Glioma for between 12-15 months.

That being said, we are fortunate that Bobby was able to have the Craniotomy to remove the tumor. In addition, he’s young (much younger than the average age of people who have Glioma), otherwise healthy and in good spirits. We’ve both got a lot of fight in us left, and we’re hoping for a better outlook than the average numbers.

Moving forward, Bobby will be starting 6 weeks of Radiation on May 6th. After that he will most likely be doing chemotherapy in the form of a pill to help manage his condition.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read Bobby’s story. And if you choose to donate, thank you so so much. Your support means the world to us.
