Why We’re Raising Money for The Bobby Copping Foundation

We are running the 2026 Manchester marathon - Alfee and Joe - in support of The Bobby Copping Foundation, a cause that means a great deal to both of us.

The foundation was created by Bobby Copping, along with Kayleigh Stent, after both founders experienced their own challenges and wanted to create something real that would make a difference. Their mission is simple but powerful: to make fully funded, professional mental health support instantly accessible to anyone who needs it.

What started as an idea has grown into a fully professional counselling service with more than 10 qualified counsellors. To date, the foundation has already funded over 1,000 hours of counselling, breaking down financial barriers for people at the moments they need help most.

One of the most special things about the foundation - and a huge reason we believe in it - is their commitment to getting people support within 48 hours of reaching out. No waiting lists. No delays. Just immediate, professional help when someone is struggling.

We both feel strongly that mental health support shouldn’t be something people have to wait for or worry about affording. And like so many others, we both have people in our lives who struggle with their mental health. Seeing loved ones go through that makes this mission even more personal to us.

For Joe, the foundation holds an extra connection. He grew up playing football with Bobby, and although their paths eventually went in different directions, knowing Bobby and seeing what he has built makes this cause feel especially close to his heart.

By running this marathon, Alfee and Joe hope to raise vital funds so the foundation can continue providing life-changing support and expanding its reach. Every donation - no matter the size - helps someone access counselling at a moment when it could truly make a difference.
