Bobby Brown Critically Injured in Hit and Run

Donation protected
Shortly after 11:00pm on Wednesday, March 3, Bobby Brown, son of Reginald and Terri Cole Brown, was struck by a vehicle while he was outside of his parked car in Arcadia, Florida. Bobby was critically injured in the hit and run incident, and is lucky to be alive, as his leg was partially amputed upon impact and the driver who struck him fled the scene on foot, leaving Bobby to die. His injuries include an emergency above-the-knee amputation of his left leg and a traumatic spinal cord injury. He's currently recieving emergency care at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, where he is in the ICU Trauma Unit. He has been on and off life support since the incident, and is stable for now, waiting for additional surgeries related to his injuries, as well as recieving blood transfusions.

This fundraiser has been started on behalf of Bobby and 100% of all donations will benefit him directly. Bobby is active in his personal and professional life. The loss of his leg will be devastating. Although he has insurance, Bobby's emergency room stay and immediate care alone will cost approximately $40-60,000 out of pocket. The average LIFETIME cost of an amputation alone is over $500,000. A state of the art prosthetic that can allow Bobby to walk and be himself again after recovery will cost up to $50,000. The goal of this fundraiser is to focus on the immediate care for Bobby and relieve the initial costs of his survival, as well as his ability to enter into recovery. This includes preparing the Brown's home for Bobby to return to and recover in comfortably with the appropriate medical equipment, renovations to make his home more accessible, short term and long term care plans, and immediate costs such as transportation, groceries, hotel accommodations, etc. while he remains in the hospital.

The driver who struck Bobby has not yet been located and apprehended. You can read more about the Florida Highway Patrol's ongoing investigation about the hit and run here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1136758313463856&id=534025867070440

An account for cash donations directly to Bobby's long time account at SunTrust Bank will also be set up, as well as a meal donation program for the family during this time.

Any and all donations, prayers, and sharing of this fundraiser and Bobby's story to raise awareness will be GREATLY appreciated by Bobby AND his family. At this time Bobby is not able to have visitors, and the family is asking for privacy to focus on his care. The family will provide regular updates to this page, and through Bobby's adult siblings Victoria Jones and Stormy Thompson. As a courtesy to his parents, please refrain from contacting Reggie and Terri excessively,  and only as absolutely necessary, so they can be focused on precious time with their son, which is limited to just 4 hours a day at this time.
