Bobby Romero (Cipriano)

Life is beautiful and unpredictable. No one knows this better than the Canaya-Romero family. They’re a perfect example of how we live our lives to the fullest and unexpected challenges come our way.
Bobby (Cipriano) was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on January 12, 2015. Since then, they followed western medicine recommendations while pursuing alternative medical treatments, maximizing all financial resources through both of their employers. They have had the full support of their family. Due to his diagnosis, Bobby was forced to stop working in October of 2017. Bobby’s co-workers selflessly donated their vacation hours to him during the time he needed it most. It is a true testament to how much they value Bobby as a friend and colleague. Over the past 5 years, Audra has exhausted her leave time caring for Bobby and their girls.

With faith in God being the foundation of their marriage, Bobby and Audra are a true example to their daughters, Audriana, Gabriella, Isabella and Juliana of what ‘for better or for worse’ means. Cancer is catastrophic in more ways than any of us can imagine. It’s ugly and relentless. When Bobby was diagnosed, the doctors gave him 2 years to live. We’ve been blessed with more than double that time with him. Bobby and Audra believe it is through their faith and the prayers of others on their behalf that Bobby’s time has been extended well beyond the initial diagnosis. The calls, texts, visits and meals have meant so much to the family and they are so grateful.

Money won’t provide more time but in this case, it’s the quality of time that counts. Bobby has one request, to spend more quality time with Audra and their daughters by his side. The only way this can realistically happen is for Audra to take a leave of absence. While she has the full support of her employer, the leave will be unpaid. The gift of being able to sit together, to talk face to face with each other, to pray together is Bobby’s ultimate desire. Knowing Bobby, he will want to talk about oil changes, garbage day and laundry. Bobby and Audra will be home together when Juliana and Isabella come home from school and when Audriana and Gabriella come home from work each day. They will have the time to laugh together, sing and dance together, cry together and hold each other.

Family and friends, please give what you can, once or as often as you like. All contributions will be appreciated. Every single dollar equals the gift of time. Bobby specifically asked that if you are unable to donate, he understands but asks that you continue to pray - for him, his wife and his beautiful girls.

The Canaya-Romero Family appreciates your love, prayers, support and donations.
