On Friday, June 15th my wife and best friend Bobbie Cossar was rushed to Urgent Care after blacking out at our home from extreme abdominal pain. Her condition and symptoms were beyond the means of that facility and we were instructed to go straight to Parkview Hospital. Her intestine had ruptured and a CT scan confirmed that there was air in her abdomen. She was diagnosed with Diverticulitis and rushed into emergency surgery where they removed a good part of her intestine. A mother of three boys and with our first grandson on the way at any moment and a business she helps run alongside me her husband of over 9 years , Gordon Cossar, this couldn't have happened at a worst time. She was admitted Friday and is still currently at Parkview doing everything in her power to recuperate and recover, but her symptoms have not subsided. Her grandson was born June 20th at 2:05am at Parkview. Thankfully Bobbie was allowed to be part of our grandson's birth and delivery, but she is not out of the woods yet. She is still experiencing excruciating pain. The hospital staff became very concerned due to the little progress made and on Thursday, June 21st she was given another CT scan. The results were not what we wanted to hear. There was now fluid building up in the abdomen and immense swelling; she now needed another immediate surgery. She had her second surgery on June 22nd and the full results from that are still unknown at this point, but we will try to keep you updated along the way. Before the 2nd surgery we received the news that she will be unable to return to work anywhere from three months to a year and that she will still need further procedures in the future after she's released. Unfortunately, she is not covered under health insurance and we are gravely concerned about how we are going to cover medical expenses and with her not being able to work, and of course other common household expenses adding up. Those that know us, know that we have never asked for anything, but we always try to give. She is a huge part of Shamrock Brewing Company and through that she has helped organize and partake in numerous charities and fundraisers throughout the years. St. Baldrick's, CSU Friends of Football and CSU alumni tailgate parties(never misses a home game), the Local 3 Pueblo Fire Department Union and it doesn't stop there. There are countless other charities she has participated in throughout the years. She lives every day to the fullest and is constantly helping and supporting those around us(she once told me "IT'S WHAT WE DO"). She has a beautiful soul and now she needs your help.
