Hi, my name is Alex and i am creating this for my mom who is once again going through another surgery sometime next week. We have been going through this for the last 5 years of infection after infection after infection, except this time her hip is dislocated, completely out of socket, cup and all.

Now let me start you at the very beginning. Hip problems run in our family, so in 2019 mom decided to get her left hip replaced which went very well then a year later she decided she wanted to get the other replaced which is when all problems started. A few weeks after the doctor put her new hip in she started to be in severe pain but the doctor didn’t listen and made excuses of what could be causing the pain, but the pain like we had thought was infection which kept spreading even after all the surgeries and IV antibiotics. Fast forward to January of this year, she started to become very sick which we thought was just strep as she is prone to it. January 29th comes around and she just keeps getting worse, the 30th she was supposed to get her hip aspirated which is how they can detect whatever infection she has/does have. She started getting lethargic and was hallucinating so my dad took her to urgent care and there she couldn’t remember who she was or who my dad was , when her birthday was etc. Urgent Care sent her to the ER via ambulance, while at the ER she had a stroke which made the ER intubate her and sent her to Ohio State hospital where her current doctor is. January 30th the new doctor did emergency surgery because she was septic which was why her kidneys were failing. She coded twice in a matter of 14 days and was intubated half of her time in columbus.

This last surgery April 20th we thought everything was going in the right direction, she wasn’t in any pain or anything. At her doctors appointment yesterday (May 10th) they did an x-ray which showed that her hip has dislocated which brings us to today. Her kidneys are failing once again, the reasoning for that is most likely because of infection. There was a possibility that surgery would be today but unfortunately her numbers are too high so surgery will be sometime next week hopefully, which also means she will be spending mother’s day in the hospital in Columbus.

I am creating this to hopefully relieve a small amount of our stress and worries, We aren’t the type to ask for money from people but i felt this would be the best option as my dad is the only one working at the moment and he can’t be at two places at once so it’s between work or being in Columbus with my mom.
