This is Bobbie. She is my family’s beloved doggo. We rescued Bobbie 8 years ago after she was brought into an animal hospital after being hit by a truck. After multiple life saving surgeries she was on the road to recovery. However, no one came back for her. She was abandoned. This happens all to often in the veterinary field. People can’t afford the care for their animals and just stop answering the phone when they’re called for updates. Or they disconnect their number. Some even give all bogus information. Bobbie was then fostered by a close friend of mine. He worked at the same animal hospital that saved her life. I was touched at hearing this little girls triumphant story. This little fighter had to be met. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love with her.

Unfortunately, Bobbie’s fight wasn’t over. She was diagnosed with lymphoma just a few months ago. I was lucky to be working for the same hospital that saved her once before. The treatments worked for a bit. However, she quickly relapsed. The lymphoma was aggressive and almost doubled in size. It was obstructing her airway and couldn’t breathe.

That is when everyone helped her. My entire hospital shut down to help my girl. She received emergency radiation and was in an oxygen cage. I was a nervous wreck. She pulled through this ordeal. The hospital bill was high. Over 1k and that was with my discount.

However, now I face another problem. I have been let go from the job I loved. I worked so hard for that place. Went above and beyond multiple times had just told me they were parting ways with me. I begged them not to reconsider just simply for Bobbie so we can afford her oncology bills.

Clearly I was unsuccessful. So, I write this broken hearted plea to friends, animal lovers, co-workers and decent human beings. Please if you’re thinking of adopting an animal look into insurance for them and Please help us have more time with our girl.
