Boba has Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)

Hi, I'm Bianca and this is my sweet precious baby Boba. He's only 8 months old and was diagnosed with FIP. FIP is a syndrome caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus. Boba has the wet form which means he has fluid building up inside his abdomen which makes breathing, eating and drinking extremely difficult and painful.

Boba is the light of my life and has always been energetic and playful and right by my side, until about a week ago I noticed he became extremely lethargic.

The vet looked at him and found that he's jaundice meaning his liver is failing, and after extensive bloodwork came to the diagnosis of FIP and I was told its fatal and to just keep him comfortable. Boba was given a death sentence.

Since the diagnosis, Boba is losing weight rapidly and is extremely dehydrated despite always having access to fresh water and food. I've taken him to get subcutaneous fluids twice since diagnosis, to try and keep him hydrated. I've also taken him to the ER to have his fluid drained once so far. This alone has been very expensive but I will do whatever it takes for Boba.

FIP is not treatable by any medication or treatment that can be given to you by a vet.

The only known effective treatment is called GS-441524 and it requires about 12 weeks of daily injection, and will total around $3,000. This is difficult for me on top of the vet bills that are piling up. I also have another cat and a puppy at home. They are all well taken care of and regularly see the vet, but I was not prepared for an expense as large as this one and need all the help I can get.

Aforementioned FIP treatment is not FDA approved so vets cannot provide access to it. There are a few amazing nonprofit organizations out there that assist people who have babies suffering with this disease. I am currently working with FIP Warriors USA and thanks to their amazing generosity have receieved Boba's first few doses of this amazing medicine for free, but we have a long road ahead of us and I am going to need all the help I can get to hopefully get my sweet boy back to health. He is the best, and he is everything to me, and he deserves a chance to overcome this.

I am cutting corners in every aspect of my life to save money, working overtime, and reaching out to every resource I can think of in order to save Boba's precious life.
