Hi, my name is Asia Sherart, and I’m Alex’s best friend. I’ve known the Richards family since I was 13 years old, and to this day, they feel like a second family to me. That’s just the kind of people they are: kind, generous, and always making you feel at home the moment you walk through their door.
On July 25th, our beloved Bob Richards suffered a catastrophic stroke. Despite the strength and determination that carried him through cancer and heart surgery in recent years, this time, his body could not hold on. Bob passed away surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a deep hole in the hearts of all who knew him.
Bob was a fighter, a provider, and the kind of man who always showed up for his family. His wife Sam, his sons Andrew and Robert, his daughter Alex, and his three young grandchildren, Lucas, Emily, and Connor, were his whole world. He was the heartbeat of the Richards family, a pillar of love, strength, and gentle kindness.
To know the Richards is to know what true warmth and kindness look like. Their door has always been open, both literally and figuratively. Whether you are family, a friend, or a stranger, the moment you step into their home, you are welcomed like one of their own. Bob and Sam have always made sure of that.
Now, as Sam faces life without her other half, we want to give her the space to grieve without the added burden of financial stress. End-of-life expenses are overwhelming and unexpected, and the family is left picking up the pieces while trying to honour Bob’s memory with the dignity he deserves.
If you are able to give, no matter the amount, please know it will make a difference. Your support will help cover memorial and funeral costs and allow the Richards family some breathing room as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and for loving Bob the way we all did.
With love,
Asia Sherart
