Bob Mel Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On Friday, May 19, 2017, Bob was injured when the lawn tractor he was mowing with flipped over on top of him, breaking his back. The injury was a compression fracture of his lower back.
On Sunday, May 21, 2017, Bob was operated on during a lengthly operation to clear bone fragments pressing against his spinal cord and reinforcing his back with rods and screws.
Bob spent 2 days in ICU and is now on the Orthopedic floor at Yale New Haven Hospital. Bob has a long road ahead of him. He will have to spend some time in a rehab facility before going home.
The funds donated will offset medical bills and as Bob's only income is his singing engagements these funds will help in his everyday needs when he returns home.
