Obituary & Service Times
On, 3/11/2019, Bobby Martin passed away in Hollister, Ca. Bobby had been ill for quite awhile, living with Type 1 diabetes since age 17 and all the complications it brought over the years, but his passing today was sudden and unexpected.
Though he was dealt a life with health difficulties, he knew how to enjoy every bit of life and was always good for a joke and a laugh. He wasn't shy; everyone knew Bobby. He never forgot anyone he met and kept in contact with as many friends as he could.
Over the years, he became limited by his disabilities, but he still kept a mechanic shop at home, tinkering on automobiles and small engine machinery when his health would allow. He would make a little money doing car/truck repairs. But he never denied helping friends and family lacking funds who just needed to get safely back on the road.
He also loved music; The Beatles, Santana, Merle Haggard, just to name a few. He kept a veggie garden each year and proudly shared his bounty of peppers and corn with everyone.
Bobby couldn't earn a steady income for decades due to disability and what money he did have went towards a long time of running medical costs. We, his family and friends, are reaching out to his community to help raise the funds needed to meet his funeral expenses. He is survived by his son, Bobby Jr. and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother David, sisters, Mary Ellen and Terry, his mother Elvira, and many more extended family and friends. Plans have been arranged through Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home (Linked above). We hope to raise the funds for those immediate needs. Bobby may not have been wealthy, but his riches of love and friendship were reaped by all who knew him. Now, we'd like to give back to him and his family in a time of need. Thank you in advance to all who can contribute.
