Our dear friend, Bob, had a massive stroke on Sunday, October 4 that required major emergency surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain. A few days later, Bob had a craniectomy to relieve the pressure on his brain that ended up saving his life. Fortunately, the care at Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey kept Bob alive and after two weeks in intensive care, he was moved to the Acute Rehab section of the hospital where he has remained for the last several weeks. Bob is only 50 years old and had been in good health before the unimaginable happened. He is making progress, re-learning how to speak, use his right arm and right leg, and working to regain his cognitive abilities. Bob works extremely hard every day and may soon be discharged to either a sub-acute facility or home with continued therapy and care.
As one can expect, Bob is unable to work at this time and is incurring significant medical expenses. He still needs aggressive therapy and another surgery to replace the portion of his skull that was removed. His wife of 20 years, Pam, and their 17 year old son, Max, along with family and friends are working together to manage the house and their lives. Max is a senior in high school and was about to visit colleges and apply when this tragedy occurred. Bob and his family will continue to incur additional, significant expenses with limited income, as he was the primary provider. When he returns home, Bob will require daily help until he makes a significant recovery. Bob will never give up on his road to recovery, but it will be a long and difficult road to regain essential functions and get back to a normal life.
Given the loss of income along with the anticipated expense of care and rehabilitation, we would be most grateful for your generous support of this amazing man and family. The funds will go towards paying the current medical and home expenses and eventually towards the care and modifications that he will need to live. The initial goal is $25,000 and will be adjusted based on Bob’s current and future needs. Any amount you can contribute from $5, $10, $100, $1000 or more will be greatly appreciated by him and his family and friends and will help to offset the enormous expenses not covered by insurance. Please help Bob and his family overcome this devastating health crisis and attempt to get their lives back to normal. If you know Bob personally, you know he would be there for you in an instant. He is the most giving, supportive, caring, funny and lovable husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Feel free to share well wishes and memories with your generous donation and please share this page with all of your contacts and social media. We continue to pray for his recovery and thank you for your support. We will keep you updated on his recovery. God Bless!
