Hi, my name is Tiffany Michaud, and I am raising funds to help Bob and his family with medical and related expenses for his kidney transplant. This fundraiser is important to me because Bob and his wife Amy have been close friends of mine for over 20 years. Bob was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a rare kidney disease, nearly 15 years ago which led to kidney damage and eventually kidney failure. Since then, there have been hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses, countless doctors' appointments, dialysis, and a kidney transplant surgery.
Unfortunately, his FSGS attacked the donor kidney he received in December 2021, and he has been undergoing a specialized plasma treatment that insurance would only cover in an inpatient setting. Bob was recently informed that he would need a second transplant soon. He will need to undergo specialized treatment to prepare for the surgery to help improve his chances of a successful kidney transplant. This treatment was not available to him before his first kidney transplant because insurance will only cover it if a kidney transplant fails.
Bob and Amy have been married for over 27 years. He is a loving husband and father to three kids; two are in college, and one just started high school this year. He has always worked hard to support his family, coached his kids' sports teams, and has been present for every milestone. Unfortunately, the medical expenses and loss of income have taken their toll.
Please consider donating to help them bridge the financial gap to get through his treatments and another kidney transplant. Also, please let us know if you want more information about donating a kidney.
