Bob Betcher - Heart Transplant Fundraiser

Bob Betcher aka “Betch” has always been there to help those in need and is truly the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back. Bob livens up any situation with his humor and gregarious and larger-than-life personality. He is a true friend, always being considerate and genuinely interested in the lives of others—like how he always remembers even the littlest details about the lives of his friends’ children.

Bob has been a pillar in his community and has impacted the lives of many. He has fought hard against congestive heart failure for years and now needs a heart transplant.

As a loving husband and father, Bob has always brought laughter into his home while being a part of his best team yet, the one he has made with his wife Sue. He would do anything for his family.

Bob has been a mentor to many, a talented lacrosse coach, and a fun-loving friend to all who have been lucky enough to meet him. During his lacrosse career, he was an incredible teammate and friend to each of us at Ward Melville and Ohio Wesleyan. He has been a mentor to young kids coming up in the sport, taken many players under his wing and advocated for them for college. He is known across generations in the lacrosse family. He has been a part of the game of lacrosse for almost fifty years, starting off at the local youth leagues in Stony Brook coached by his dad Bruce. Betch carried on this tradition with his own sons, Jack and Ryan, coaching them during their early years in lacrosse.

Out of love and admiration, we are asking for donations of any size to support the Betcher family through this difficult time. To us, Betch is more than just a friend, he is our teammate and brother.

We are asking for donations to cover the medical expenses and loss of income of our lifelong friend, Bob Betcher. We thank you for your support, please keep Bob and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you,

Tim Goldstein, Chris Walker, Brian Murphy, Kevin Waldron, Tom Waldron, and Robert Loscalzo
