As you may or may not know my parents recently lost everything they had ever owned in the Paradise California Camp Fire disaster.
I am so grateful and feel so lucky that they got out from the fire with their lives as well as most all of their family and close friends. My parents are too humble to ask for any help and assistance, but after spending time with them through this difficult event, I have found out that their insurance is not even coming close to covering the assets and everything they lost. Your generous funding would go into helping them transition and find a new place to live.
This was my first time having to personally go through the process of victims of a disaster and it is incredibly difficult and complicated process for someone who is in their mid 70's. It is a challenging process to try and navigate insurance and see so many folks hurting, feeling sad and in pain. My parents like many others from Paradise are in a holding cycle right now. My parents were lucky that they were able to at least have their camper with them and they are camped out at local place south of Paradise, waiting to get access back to their home to sift through any belongings that might be able to have saved from the fire.
Because of the amount of victims in this fire the police are treating it like a crime scene. It could be sometime before anyone gets back to their home. This funding would assist and help them while they are in this short to long term holding cycle.
If you know anything about my mom and dad you know that community and friends have always been incredibly important to them. They have worked their whole life and incredibly hard to lose everything from this disaster. They have volunteered countless hours of time and energy and efforts to give back to their beloved Paradise community. My family would like to personally thank you for any support you could provide them during and through this difficult time.
Thanks again,
Bob
