The Board Family is proudly celebrating its 50th anniversary, a testament to the enduring love and togetherness taught by our matriarch and patriarch, James Robert Board Sr. and Virginia Virlene Taylor. United in marriage on December 26, 1906, these descendants of slaves, born in Virginia, built a remarkable life in Western Pennsylvania, raising 12 children (8 girls and 4 boys) with grace and unwavering faith.

On December 26, 1956, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone that cemented a cherished family tradition: the adoption of our theme song, "You Can Look For Me for I'll Be There." This song is a constant reminder that our family circle, bound by unbreakable love, endures forever.

To honor the profound legacy of James Robert Board Sr. and Virginia Virlene Taylor, and their 12 beloved children who have all passed away, we are raising funds to invest in the education, growth, and development of current and future generations within our family.

(1) The Olga B. Harris Scholarship Fund: This fund, established through the thoughtful will of Olga Mae (7th child of the original 12), provides essential financial assistance to family members pursuing postsecondary education, helping to offset the rising costs.
