Well, isn’t this lovely, a massive tree hath fallen…atop our cars. Sai’s car seems like it might have survived, but mine is totaled. I rely on my car every single day for work—not just commuting, but safely transporting tiny humans around town—so safety and reliability aren’t optional.

We’re both still considered “new drivers” in the eyes of the law, which means our insurance is sky-high ($392/month just to legally drive). We couldn’t afford extensive coverage, and Progressive literally told us not to bother filing a claim .
