Help My Family in the Philippines
Donation protected
A typhoon called Typhoon Rai (locally known as Odette), hit the Philippines last week and my family here in Canada didn’t hear anything from our family in the Philippines. Two days before Christmas my mom told me that my cousins drove 2 hours away to get service to notify us that everything is destroyed. They don’t have clean drinking water, barely any food, no electricity and their homes are ripped apart. I didn’t wanna post this before Christmas because it is a heartbreaking subject in times of merry and joy. If you are able to donate and want to, my family and their neighbors would greatly appreciate it. If you are unable to donate, pls share thank you so much
“Rai is one of the most powerful storms to hit the southern Philippines on record. Within 24 hours, the typhoon intensified into the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane, with sustained winds of some 100 miles per hour in a band 600 miles across. By the time it exited the Philippines Saturday, the storm had displaced more than 481,000 people, according to the Philippines Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.”
My family in Canada is facilitating and donating the money to get supplies: water, food, shelter- wood & nails to rebuild homes, electricity. “A little goes a long way, $10 can help a family of 4 for drinking water.”
Thank you for taking the time to read this! Mainstream media hasn’t covered much of this and the lack of awareness has truly made the situation harder, they need the support.
