COVID-19 Relief For Green Herald Staff
We are raising relief funds for the 51 active Green Herald school helpers who have been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hello Friends,
We hope everyone is safe & healthy. With the sudden occurrence of this pandemic, the COVID-19 outbreak, people have been severely affected. Many have lost their lives, experienced extreme deterioration of health and been financially impacted.
With our school, Green Herald, being closed down to help flatten the curve, we can’t help but worry about our beloved staff. We are worried about Bina aunty, who would always make sure we ate and weren’t skipping lunch. We are worried about Haque uncle who would sneak us into the school campus after sister Michelle escorted us out for being late. We are worried about Jorina aunty, whose warm and welcoming smile brightened our first day back at school after summer break a tad bit better. Whether you’re alumni or a current student, we know growing up, these people contributed to the amazing experience we had at school. This is our small effort to let them know we’re thinking of them during this difficult time. We are inviting you to join us in giving back to our wonderful helpers who have so greatly impacted our school life.
Our goal is to raise funds for the staff members and help them out during this crisis so they can afford basic necessities and be able to support themselves and their families financially in case they require medical assistance or face emergencies. There are currently 51 active staff members. The total amount raised will be equally distributed among all the staff members.
We also have a bKash solution in place, for those who want to donate that way:
bKash: +8801777798596 (personal)
We have been working internally with Malcolm Sir (administration team) and Sister Asha (Principal). They have been extremely helpful and have ensured their support for this initiative and will continue supporting the staff in the future. We will be sending the funds to the helpers directly via the bKash app. Additionally, we are coordinating with Malcolm sir to come up with an efficient solution for those who may not have bKash. We will be keeping everyone posted on the total bKash amount raised as well as any new developments in our next update, as we want this to be a fully transparent process.
As part of helping those who need it the most, this initiative is also proudly a part of #BacharLorai
#BacharLorai is a social movement for all of us to work together on more projects from Bangladeshi expats, citizens and grass-roots organizations to fight COVID-19. If you have something to contribute or would like to start something, let's start talking!
Please donate if you are able to, and also share this with your fellow classmates, teachers and families so we can reach as many people as possible.
We hope through this campaign we can extend our support to our beloved helpers and let them know they are in our hearts always!
Thank you,
