I am reaching out on behalf of my future father-in-law, Matt Blake, who has recently been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. This recent diagnosis has come as a devastating blow to the Blake family and the community that surrounds.
As some may know, medical expenses for treating cancer can quickly become daunting and place a financial strain on a family. This, in addition to his continued care for his kidney transplant and stroke rehab, has overtaken Matt’s life. And although there have been many answered prayers and praises along the way, this has flipped our family's life upside down for the foreseeable future.
Matt is an extremely respectable and highly regarded man. He is hard-working, diligent, hospitable, generous, and above all, a devoted follower of Christ. He is a leader. He is a giver. He is a caretaker. He is an excellent model of how to appropriately manage a household and a business. He has sacrificed so much for his family. He loves his wife and children like no other and has an incredible bond with each member of his family. I have witnessed this all first hand. He has greatly influenced me and helps serve as a role model of what a father and husband should be, sacrificial. He bears the weight of responsibility before God, to cultivate a marriage and household that glorifies God.
With the consent of the family, I have decided to start a GoFundMe account to help raise funds. All donations will go towards Matt's care. Any donation, large or small, will make a difference and is greatly appreciated. He is a beloved member of his community and has never asked for anything in return.
With the intense cancer treatment that lies ahead, we continue to remain hopeful as we pull strength from the Lord. We are extremely grateful for the care he has already received and the treatment plan that has been set forth by the medical team.
