This is our Ruby.  Many of you will already know that she took her own life on 23 July last year at the age of 23. Those of you who knew Ruby will remember how generous, kind, clever, beautiful and hysterically funny she was. Despite struggling with her mental health for many years, she was a support and inspiration to so many people. She truly was the best of us. We, her sisters, her nieces, Jess, all her family and friends miss her terribly.

In the last 11 months, many of you have given very generously to the charity Mind on the GoFundMe page set up in her memory. You raised an amazing £11,076 which Solent Mind working with Mark (Ruby’s dad) have used to set up a project in Ruby’s name. This project aims to provide mentoring and support for people with mental health problems to find and keep a job. This was an issue very close to Ruby’s heart.

A big group of Ruby’s family and friends are planning to run the Southampton 10k on 5 September 2021 in Ruby’s name to raise money to keep this project running. We would be very grateful for any donations to support this cause. Ruby would have been so delighted that you were able to help.
