My mom, Esilda Cecilia Taborda, was part of a mass lay off on March 6, 2025 from a company she worked at for about five years. Since then, she has applied to unemployment and other benefit programs, but unfortunately the unemployment benefits have expired for the term exactly when she has a bunch of medical bills and an ileostomy reversal surgery planned within the next few months.

She is still looking for work, but in the meantime, she is growing her career skills by volunteering at the St. Francis Xavier Marian Shop, Nourish, and the Mountain Park Health Center Food Distribution events. If you are unable to help financially, and have any job leads in Phoenix, AZ that is also really helpful. She has worked in the past as a teacher assistant and a health promoter.
