Help Chris Fight Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected

Hey y'all,
My name is Elizabeth Grubbs and our family has had an extremely hard year in 2024! It all started June 13, 2024, when my brother Christopher Hudson called me from the emergency room crying, "Sissy, I have cancer!" I dropped everything I was doing and booked it to the hospital, which luckily was right down the road.

They immediately admitted him to do a biopsy to see what kind of cancer we are dealing with. We started off being told it was cancer of the appendix that had looked like it had spread. We were given hope that a surgery would be able to get the cancer out and all the blockages that he had in his intestines and stomach. A month or two later, after the scariest moment of the news, he was admitted to prep for surgery! This surgery was supposed to make things better and easier! After an 8-hour surgery that ended up being unsuccessful, they took multiple biopsies again to see if it was a different type of cancer. We waited all day to be able to see him! We were finally able to see him. He grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go and was dozing on and off the whole time. We found out that the cancer was a lot worse than they thought and couldn't do what needed to be done. The only option at this point was to start chemotherapy and radiation! The biopsies came back to be STAGE 4 Appendiceal adenocarcinoma!!

ANOTHER month or so down the line, he is finally able to start chemotherapy and radiation.

All the time since his diagnosis, he has been living with our parents and in and out of the hospital! My mom is his sole caretaker at the moment besides a nurse coming one to two times a week. Between the chemo visits and the nurses coming to the house, it's getting expensive! The bills are piling up! We are in the process of trying to get help through the government, but everyone knows how that is! We need help to pay his mortgage for his house he just purchased a few years ago!

Enough with the bad and here's some good!! My brother is one of the nicest people you will meet! He would literally give you the food off his plate if you say you are hungry! When I was growing up, I was always wherever he was for the most part! From snow sledding off the garage and deck steps to cutting grass around the neighborhood to running around with all the neighborhood kids growing up! He's never really asked anyone for anything, and if y'all know our family, we aren't ones to talk about our problems no matter how big or small! We are a very close and private family, but we are struggling! My parents are doing their best at the moment, but with them both being retired and trying to do their own bills and Chris's, we are starting to stress! And we don't want to add any stress to Chris as much as we can!

We are doing the best we can but just need a little boost to keep going and supporting him as much as we can! If you have any questions about our situation, please give me an email or text! I just want to help my big brother out like he has ALWAYS helped me... literally bought me 2 different horse trailers through the years! He is an AMAZING brother, son, and uncle!! Thank you for reading our story!
