Help Send Rihém to Georgetown!

Hello! My name is Rihem Sejil, Originally from Bizerte, Tunisia. I am embarking on what feels like the journey of a lifetime. I am an awardee of the US Department of State Administered Tomorrow’s Leaders Program. In a couple months from now, I will graduate from the American University in Cairo with a BA in Political Science, and I will do so with honors.

I have been recently accepted into Georgetown’s Security Studies program at the Walsh School of Foreign Service in Washington D.C with 25% of my tuition (11476 USD yearly) covered through a merit award. This competitive program at one of America’s most prestigious institutions is not just a step toward achieving my academic and professional dreams; it is a giant leap for me as a first-generation college student, and represents the culmination of years of hard work and determination.

Today, I'm reaching out to extend my community far and wide, seeking support. I am not just asking for financial assistance, I'm inviting YOU personally to be part of my next chapter of life. My educational pursuits at The American University in Cairo and at Bard College in the United States have been made possible by a prestigious academic and leadership scholarship that solidified my desire to join the forefront of security professionals.

Why Georgetown and Security Studies?

Georgetown's MA in Security Studies Program (SSP) stands out as a leader in the field, offering unparalleled resources, faculty expertise, and a location in the heart of Washington, D.C. This program is a perfect fit for my career aspirations, allowing me to dive deep into the complex challenges of international security, counterterrorism, and defense policy.

The Challenge

However, the path to achieving this dream is financially daunting. Not only am I the sole responsible for my finances, but as a first-generation student, the cost of attending Georgetown includes tuition, books, housing, and living expenses, amounts to approximately 100.000 USD. While I am currently anticipating taking out a loan, actively seeking scholarships and part-time work, the financial gap remains significant for a non American student.

This is where I need your help.

I am reaching out to ask for your support in closing this financial gap. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to pursuing this life-changing opportunity.

Your contribution will support the development of a passionate security professional committed to making a positive impact on peace and security in the middle east and globally. In return for your support, I commit to not only pursuing my studies with dedication and passion but also to giving back to the community that has helped me get there. Please I encourage you to share this campaign with your friends, family and networks.

Thank you for considering supporting my journey to Masters at Georgetown. Your generosity, support, and belief in my potential mean more than words can express.

With Heartfelt Gratitude,
Rihém Sejil
