Looking for help for a great friend and his family – Eric Melton
Hi everyone, I am asking today for anyone who can spare a little something for my friend and former co-worker Eric Melton. Just recently and unexpected he was just laid off from his job. We have all worked together for the last 4 years and this was a true shock to us all. Over the last 4 years we have become not just friends but an extended family. Eric has a wife a 4 beautiful kids. I and other friend/co -worker Russ decided we need to step up and try to help this family out.
Eric for me the last 4 years has not only been a great boss to me (when he was my boss) but also a great friend. As for the people that know me my family for the last 2 years have been thru a very hard time with my husband being in and out of the hospital with infections and then being diagnosed with cancer. Thru it all Eric was always there for me. Whether it was something stupid he would say or do to make me laugh or to just reassure me that he had my back. He is a man of integrity and a man of his word. He looked out for all his staff and was our back bone and voice to our company. His loyalty to a person is rare to find these days.
Now Eric is faced with the challenge of finding work. But that is not an easy task being that he has lost his medical insurance and is in need of a bilateral hip replacement. Eric’s current mobility issues limit him from many jobs. Also the field of work we are in is very limited as far as how many similar companies there are. It is now the holiday time and he has three kids and bills to pay.
As a parent this is the worst time of the year to lose your job and have to cut back. Anything you can donate will go directly to the Melton family. Anything will help and keep him afloat till he can find something else. If anyone has any questions please feel free to call me [phone redacted]. I thank you for reading this and hope we can all take a little burden off this family. And also please contact me if there is any other means of a donation via a gift card ect.. I will be happy to make arrangements to get it and give it to the family.
My co-worker Russ had a few of his own words he wanted me to add about Eric
My name is Russ Euler. I work with Michelle Debatto and have been working with Eric Melton for close to 15 years now. He is been an amazing Leader, Mentor in the field I work in, and most of all Friend. We have been through a lot of changes, good times and bad and he is the type of person that never left you in your time of need, never gave up on you when you were giving up if you were unhappy at work or just issues in life, never blamed you or spoke down to you. He is always honest, positive and encouraging and he was always fair and looked at both sides with any complaints at work and talked to you about them. Unfortunately he is now going through not just a hard time but a time that is undeserving to his quality of life, nature and talent. I wish there was something I could do to help him the way he has helped me . After speaking to Michelle, we thought about a Go Fund Me page and although it won’t solve everything, every little bit helps. I ask my friends, please give to someone that was always willing to help, always gave what he had and never thought twice about helping someone, even those school or club donations myself and my family went around asking for.
