Help Moose Get Better

Hi,

I’m creating this today for my beautiful precious angel cat, Moose. She started presenting severe pain symptoms (open mouth breathing, inability to walk, and a lot of crying) late last night and we had to take her to the emergency vet. After four stressful hours in the waiting room and some pain meds given to Moo, the vet told us they believe she has a blood clot, likely caused by underlying heart disease. As of tonight, we’ve paid 2400$ as a down payment to cover the cost of her pain management and to get imaging of her heart done tomorrow to help determine our next steps in terms of treatment. We were told to expect to pay at least another 800 to 1000 dollars additional for her tests and treatment.

I have had to spend money that was intended for things like my rent, groceries, and most importantly my insulin. But she is such an important part of my life. I would do anything to make sure she isn’t in pain. However, I am creating this in hopes that friends, family and community can help out while we navigate her future and our day-to-day financial needs for the next month.

Moose has been consistently one of the best parts of my adult life. She’s been my baby for 5 years, we’ve been together through so many seasons of my life (including having moved housing situations together 7 separate times). I love her endlessly. She is the sweetest girl I know, and everyone who knows her loves her.
